In Michigan, you must wait 60 days from the time that a divorce is filed to the date it is finalized if you have no minor children to complete an uncontested divorce.

If you have minor children there is a 6 month waiting period is 6 months for an uncontested divorce.  It can be shortened by the court with the filing of a motion.  Some judge’s will waive the waiting period (less than 6 months – never less than 60 days).
